The Right Profile
We are seeking a senior communications professional to drive Syfe’s media and communications strategy. The candidate will work directly with the senior executive team. While it’s not necessary to already have a deep understanding of finance, the ideal candidate should have a keen interest in investing and personal finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build brand awareness, customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Oversee all internal and external communications for the company, ensuring its message is consistent and engaging.
- Plan and execute corporate communication plans to effectively communicate the company’s purpose, beliefs, growth and operational model, client and employee value proposition.
- Manage external corporate communications and media relations to improve Syfe’s brand perception.
- Draft senior management talking points, speeches, announcements at events, and support the Senior Leadership Team in public appearances and media engagements.
- Manage media enquiries, write media releases, organise media events, handle on-site media engagement, prepare media kit and brief spokespersons on FAQs. Red-teaming for possible de-railers to communications, crafting talking points and analysing media coverage.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8-10 years of working experience in corporate communications and media relations experience; marketing / PR agency background is a bonus.
- Keen interest in investing and personal finance is required.
- Candidates with an understanding of and experience in investing/financial services will be strongly considered.
- Media relations and PR skills to initiate media pitch on stories and earn coverage.
- Content Strategy and Planning Skills; Story-telling skills.
- Experience in crisis communications management, backed by quick ability to understand business issues, have the tenacity to craft clear and sharp messages, FAQs and responses in crisis situations.
- High level of originality and creativity as well as strong interest in new technologies and the digital economy business landscape to execute internal communications campaigns that will truly engage and resonate with staff.
- Skilled in LinkedIn to support SLT and Leaders Social Branding.
- Strategic communication skills with strong and good writing skills to craft Press Release, Media FAQs, CEO messages, internal and external comms.
- Established contacts with the media.
- Team player with great interpersonal skills to interlock with various business units.
- Confidence to interact and engage with Senior Leaders.
